How do I collect entrants from a Facebook post?
Copy the names out of the comments and paste them into the wheel’s text view, one per line. A page giveaway with a few hundred comments pastes in one go from a comment export; a group giveaway usually fits in a screen or two of copying. Duplicates fold into one segment and the wheel says how many it folded, so double commenters do not quietly double their chances.
Decide what counts as an entry before you collect, not after. “Like and comment” posts collect from the comments; “tag a friend” posts need you to decide whether each tag is an entry — if it is, give the entrant a weight instead of pasting them twice, and the extra chances are visible on the rim instead of buried in a list.
Does it work for groups, local pages and fundraisers?
Yes, and those are the draws where being seen to be fair matters most, because the entrants know each other. A village page drawing a hamper, a club drawing the match-day prize, a school group drawing the raffle — the wheel on a screen at the event, or recorded once for the page, ends the quiet suspicion that the committee picked a friend.
For members who cannot be in the room, run the draw as a live session and post the link: everyone who opens it watches the same spin land, at the same moment, on the same name. And if the prize table has three things on it, elimination mode draws first, second and third without anyone winning twice.
One winner or several?
For one winner, spin once and read the id. For several, turn elimination on: each winner leaves the wheel as they are drawn, so second prize is drawn from everybody who has not already won — which is what a prize table normally means. The session log keeps the order, so “who was drawn third” has an answer.
Leave elimination off only where the rules let one person win twice. That is rare in a giveaway and common in a stall game, and the wheel should do whichever your rules say rather than deciding for you. The switch is in the rules popover, and changing it changes nothing about how the draw itself is made.
What else is this wheel good for?
It is the plain name wheel with your entrants on it. Where the entries are numbered raffle tickets rather than names, the number wheel draws the ticket and you check the stub.
The same giveaway run in a feed rather than on a page is the Instagram draw. The same evening with paper tickets and a bucket is a raffle draw, and it works the same way.
