What makes an icebreaker question work?
It can be answered in one sentence by somebody who has not thought about it. First job gets an answer from everybody in the room; tell us about a time you overcame adversity gets an answer from the two people who enjoy talking.
Keep them short enough to read off the rim, and keep them out of territory nobody agreed to. A prompt that asks for a confession turns a warm-up into an interview, and the person who wanted to say least is the one who notices first.
How do I run it in a call?
Share the wheel so everyone opens the same list, or screen-share your own. For a cleaner picture, add ?embed=1 to the link: the page renders the wheel and the result alone, with no toolbar around it, which is what a shared tab or an OBS browser source wants.
Fullscreen does the same job in a room. The machine fills the screen and the prompt is large enough to read from the back, so the group is looking at the question rather than at whoever is holding the laptop.
One question each, without repeats?
Turn elimination on. Each prompt leaves the wheel as it is drawn, so six spins ask six different questions and nobody gets the one that has already been answered twice.
Two wheels work well for a larger group: one of names and one of questions, spun in turn. Save both, and the whole warm-up is two saved wheels and a minute.
What else is this wheel good for?
It is the name wheel with prompts instead of names. For the games where an answer has to start with a given letter, the letter wheel is the other half of the round.
Pick who answers as well as what is asked and you are running a classroom pick. The same wheel with a menu on it settles what to eat.
