What makes a live draw credible?
That the audience sees the list before the draw and recognises it afterwards. A winner announced from a spreadsheet nobody saw is a claim; a winner drawn from a wheel carrying every name, in front of the people whose names they are, is an event.
Each spin mints an eight-character id and writes it into the session log with the name and the time. Read it out when you announce the winner — it is short enough to say aloud — and the log is still there afterwards if anybody asks which draw that was.
How do I handle more than one entry per person?
Give the entry a weight. An entrant with three tickets gets a weight of three, their segment becomes three times as wide, and the percentage beside their name is exactly what they will win. Nothing is hidden in the maths.
Pasting a name three times works too, and is sometimes clearer to an audience: the wheel folds the duplicates into one segment and tells you it has, so the rim stays readable while the odds stay right.
How do I draw second and third place?
Turn elimination on and spin again. The first winner leaves the wheel, so the runner-up is drawn from everybody who has not won yet, which is what a tiered prize normally means.
Leave it off where a person may win twice — some giveaways work that way, and the wheel should not quietly decide otherwise. The switch lives in the rules popover on the wheel itself.
What else is this wheel good for?
It is the name wheel with your entrant list on it. If your raffle runs on numbered tickets rather than names, the number wheel draws the number and you look it up.
Drawing a prize for one person rather than a person for one prize is the other way round, and that is the prize wheel. Drawing from a fixed list where everybody gets a turn is a classroom pick.
